The Manor itself was originally built in 1891, at which time it stood alone just on the out skirts of the downtown area. A fieldstone foundation and outer walls constructed three bricks deep ensured that this home would stand for the ages. Indeed the house still contains some of the original details of its opulence: an integrated carriage house, large bay windows, 13" baseboards, and ten foot ceilings. While there have been many owners, the integrity of the home has always been preserved. With the arrival of the Kilpatrick’s in November 2002 the potential of this beautiful piece of history had finally been realized. After years of restoration and upgrading in compliance of modern building and fire codes, the Manor now stands as a testament to the adage “they don't build ’em like they used to.” Kilpatrick Manor Bed and Breakfast welcomed it’s first guests in December 2005, it comprises three beautiful guestrooms all with en suite bathrooms.
